Checklists: Reminders and Schedules

Even the most confident bride can be overwhelmed by planning details. The following lists were designed to help you keep track of deadlines and detail.

The basic checklist
This list should include:

  • the full, formal names of everyone involved
  • important dates
  • location of ceremony and celebration
  • complete addresses
  • specific times

Another sheet should include a list of times for attendants to check in.

Wedding suppliers checklists
This list has names, addresses, specific arrangements and costs for:

  • wedding officiant
  • musicians
  • food and beverage services
  • florist
  • photographer
  • videographer
  • other service providers

Include what is owed them and who will handle payment, then input that number in your Master Budget Planner.

Memories checklist
Record this information to help jog your memory some day.

  • What were your own and your groom's favorite parts of the wedding?
  • What did your mother and father love?
  • What mattered most to you?
  • Who was especially helpful?
  • Who did what?
  • Who hosted parties, when, and for what purpose?
  • Which parts of the planning process were most worth the time and effort?
  • What would you change, if anything?
  • Who said the most memorable things?

In some cases, the lists are intended to be completed now and savored later. Imagine yourself -- or a daughter or granddaughter -- reading these completed lists many years from now, when they are filled with costs, notes about family and friends, and your feelings about the occasion.
